Hi! My name is Hemangi and I am a Shopaholic. My mission is to get everyone start shopping online. I know it sounds like a really big job. Perhaps I am delusional that I would even attempt to single-handedly take on this mammoth task. But that’s only because you don’t know me. Yet.

A self-confessed shopaholic, my journey with online shopping started with Baazee in the year 2002. It’s been more than 10 years and I keep falling in love with the concept more and more. There are hundreds of sites which have come up since then and I have bought almost every product conceivable. From home décor to furnishings, electronics to computers, gadgets to mobiles, apparel to footwear and kitchenware to appliances. I have even started grocery shopping since the last few years. I am really passionate about the whole experience. So passionate in fact that I have advocated the concept to everyone I know, even making the first purchase for them if necessary. Got my doctor to buy a pair of Bose Speakers when I went to him for flu treatment recently.

My goal with this site is to provide as much information I can about the various online shopping sites to help shoppers like you make a more informed decision when making a purchase. To meet that goal, I will shop across various online shopping sites so that I can share the good or bad experiences I have and get you the best deals online for you and your family. I have chosen to write about the sites I liked or hated, the things I’d purchased & other opinions on products in general.

Random Stuff about ME

• I have a sixth sense when it comes to “finding the best bargains online”.
• I hate window shopping in stores but love doing it online. I spend hours surfing various sites without buying anything.
• I used to love writing fiction a long time ago. I intend to write and publish a book someday.
• I love to cook and craft. I am an absolute homebody.
• I am very religious. I love visiting religious places across the country.
• I have thousands of eBooks across genres but I have not read even one. I still love hardcovers when it comes to reading.
• I believe life is too short to not do what you have a passion for!
• I’m too much of a perfectionist. I will work on something till I think it is perfect and then I will try and see how I can improve on it further. It is maddening even to myself.
• I have a really uncontrollable sweet tooth. Desserts, candy, mithai, chocolates, ice-creams and anything else sweet.
• I have expensive taste. Unfortunately, I don’t have the funds to match.
• I can’t be nice to people I don’t like. I have really tried. I say it like it is!

Profesionally

A commerce graduate, I did a course in Advertising & Public Relations. That was not enough so did my Masters in Marketing & Brand Management from NMIMS, one of the top 10 B-Schools in Asia.I started my career in Research, post which I took up the challenge of setting up the marketing division of a magazine. Then moved onto Hinduja Group where I was handling the Marketing & Planning for their Media companies.

Finally entered the crazy world of the Internet with Rediff where I was taking care of the Subscriptions division. Then moved on to the Future Group where I was a part of the core team who built Futurebazaar. With Futurebazaar I knew I had found my calling. I realized that I didn’t just enjoy shopping but also enjoyed giving other shoppers the experience they truly deserve.

Post Futurebazaar I joined MobileNXT, a niche mobile shopping website, which was a Network18 venture but we had to shut it down due to recession. I have not been very happy with my last 2 work assignments as it is difficult to work with people who do not share the same passion I do for ecommerce.

I founded Ekakkshar Services to help companies set up an online or ecommerce presence. I also develop original and unique solutions for most marketing, branding, print and digital challenges that allow my clients to communicate, sell, and market themselves in a more effective manner.
